Episode 1: Kermit the Frog

In our first episode we discuss Kermit the Frog with guest Kendra Bird. You can find Kendra's radio show Telekinetic Workshop on Deep Nuggets Radio every Saturday night at 8pm-11pm ET/5pm-8pm PT.

She discusses Jim Henson's appearance on The Arsenio Hall Show, Kermit's early days as a lizard-like character on Sam and Friends, when his character became a frog on Sesame Street and The Frog Prince, and the puppeteers who have voiced Kermit over the years. The puppeteers were Jim Henson from 1955-1990, Steve Whitmire from 1990-2017, and Matt Vogel from 2017 to present. Kerry also discusses her childhood fear of Sweetums in The Frog Prince.

Kerry's favorites were Kermit and Dom DeLuise at the beginning of The Muppet Movie, Kermit and the Kermit the Gorf t-shirt, Kermit drinking the Jekyll Hyde potion on The Muppet Show Alan Arkin episode,  and his cameo on Reading Rainbow.
