Episode 11: Elmo Part 1

 It's been almost a year since we updated our blog, but we're back and determined to get the blog up-to-date! For this post we are discussing our Elmo Part 1 episode. For this episode it's just Kerry and Justin discussing our favorite little red monster, Elmo!

Episode 5: Scooter

 

In this episode we are joined by fellow podcaster Jarrah to discuss our favorite gofer, Scooter! Jarrah is one of the hosts of Women at Warp, a bi-weekly Star Trek podcast Exploring Intersectional Diversity in Infinite Combinations. You can follow her on Twitter. Kerry shares a five facts about Scooter, taken from Muppet Wiki and The Barretta Brothers Vodcast Podcast show. 

1. He was played by Richard Hunt from 1976-1991 and David Rudman from 2008 to the present. David was recently on The Barretta Brothers Vodcast Podcast and shared that he and Richard traveled to Perú together. They also collaborated on Sesame Street and played Leo the Party Monster. 

2. His uncle J. P. Grosse is the owner of the Muppet theater on The Muppet Show.

3. Scooter's position on The Muppet Show was part-time performer and gofer. "...I'll go for coffee; I'll go for sandwiches; I'll go for anything you need..."

4. Scooter is prominently featured in Muppets Now for Disney+.  episode is show from the perspective of his computer.

5. In the first three Muppet movies Scooter is seen working with popcorn. He sells popcorn during the film screening in The Muppet Movie, in The Great Muppet Caper he sells popcorn during the baseball diamond fight scene, and in The Muppets Take Manhattan he works in a movie theater where the Swedish Chef runs the concession stand.
